Blackpool Advocacy - Helping with Health and Social Care Issues

About Us

Independent advocacy has been available in Blackpool since 1995.  In 1999 when Blackpool became a unitary authority, Ann Rodham, who had been part of the initial advocacy project, went on to form Blackpool Advocacy.  Whilst many of our existing projects support residents living within Blackpool, our Constitution permits us to work in any geographical area.  Following a successful pilot project the Blackpool Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) service was launched in April 07 and additional funding has now been identified to offer this service in Fylde.

Joan Humble MP became President of Blackpool Advocacy in April 1999 and continues to support the work of the organisation both at local and national level.

The charity is managed strategically by a Board of Trustees and is made up of a team of volunteers from various backgrounds and areas of expertise.
