John is a 39 year old offender who is subject to a 12 month Suspended Sentence Order. He was being treated treated for mental health issues and had experienced a reduction in medication by his G.P causing him to suffer with intense anxiety.
John was referred to the service through Lancashire Probation Trust staff. The advocate met with John and explained their role which was to ensure that his voice would be heard and rights respected.
He requested that the advocate attend a G.P's appointment with him to discuss the medication issue and help put his views across when needed. With our assistance the G.P. agreed to reinstate John's original prescription with a view of reducing it slowly.
John was extremely happy with the outcome, and all the assistance from the service.
