Blackpool Women’s Centre is a project run by Blackpool Advocacy and Addaction, providing a safe environment for women to access practical and emotional support. The purpose is to provide a safe environment for women to access help and support and make changes in their lives. We are taking a holistic approach to the services offered looking at the women as a whole and individual person and strive to provide a calm and relaxed atmosphere for women.
The service aims to:-
- To reduce women's offending and re-offending
- To reduce the number of women in prison who do not pose a risk to the public
- To increase the number of women diverted from prosecution
- To increase the number of women accessing and being sustained in appropriate community provision
- To reduce the number of avoidable family breakdowns, specifically in relation to children
- To improve women's physical health, mental health and emotional wellbeing
- To improve the support for family members leading to better outcomes and engagement in services
